Some neighborhood markets, such as Peace Square, open a week earlier.

Are the Prague Christmas markets free?

Yes, entry to all Christmas markets in Prague is free. You only pay for what you consume: food, drinks, and souvenirs. Activities such as ice skating or church concerts are paid separately.

Does it always snow in Prague in December?

Not always, but it is likely. December usually brings at least one or two snowfalls, although there are years when it is just dry cold. In our case it didn’t snow and the city was still magical.

What clothes do I need for Prague at Christmas?

Thermal coat, waterproof boots, hat, and gloves. Ideally, dress in layers, because the cold hovers around 0°C and can drop to –5°C at night.

What to do on Christmas Eve in Prague?

Book a traditional Czech dinner (fried carp with potato salad) or attend a concert in a historic church. Keep in mind that many shops close early on December 24th and 25th.

Is it expensive to visit Prague at Christmas?

It is more expensive than at other times of the year, especially accommodation, but it is still more accessible than Vienna or Zurich. By booking in advance you can get very good prices.

How many days do I need to see Prague at Christmas?

We recommend between 2 and 4 days. With 2 days you see the essentials, with 3 you experience the full Christmas, and with 4 you can add neighborhood markets and less touristy areas like Vyšehrad.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=»4.27.6″ _module_preset=»default» global_colors_info=»{}»]

Conclusion: living the Prague Christmas with a traveler’s heart

Traveling to Prague at Christmas is an experience that combines history, tradition, lights, and emotion.
