Where is Las Playitas? Location and how to get there<\/h2>\n

Las Playitas is located in the municipality of Tuineje, on the southeast coast of Fuerteventura. It is about 8 km from Gran Tarajal and approximately 55 km from the island’s international airport. The location is quite accessible if you have a rental car, which is how we always get around in Fuerteventura.<\/p>\n

The most comfortable way to arrive is by rental car<\/strong> from the airport<\/strong> or any other point on the island. The FV-2 road heading south is the main reference, and from Gran Tarajal, you take the FV-512 to the village (Google Maps will take you there perfectly). The trip from the airport takes about 45-50 minutes without traffic.<\/p>\n

There is also a bus line connecting Las Playitas with Gran Tarajal, although the frequency is limited. If you arrive without a car, it is better to hire a taxi or coordinate your schedules well. To move around within Las Playitas and its surroundings, a car is practically essential.<\/p>\n

The Las Playitas Fuerteventura beach<\/strong> is one of those beaches that doesn’t make it onto lists of the most famous on the island, but has its own charm that makes it special. It is a protected bay with dark volcanic sand, very characteristic of the south and southeast of Fuerteventura.<\/p>\n

The water here is usually calmer than on the beaches of the north, which makes it an excellent option for families with children or for those who want to swim without worrying too much about the waves. Mind you, don’t expect turquoise waters and white sand like in Corralejo: the aesthetic here is more volcanic, more raw, and we find it just as beautiful.<\/p>\n

The beach is about 400 meters long and is flanked by the fishing village on one side and the hotel complex on the other. You will find some basic services: sun loungers, showers, and quite comfortable access. It is a clean, quiet beach with few crowds even in high season. There is free parking<\/strong> both at the entrance to the village and near the resort.<\/p>\n

A detail we love about black sand beaches in winter: the sand retains the sun’s heat and is always warm, which makes the beach experience in the colder months much more pleasant than on white sand beaches. A benefit that few people mention.<\/p>\n

Is it good for snorkeling?<\/h3>\n

Yes, although it is not one of the best on the island for this activity. The seabeds at the ends of the bay have a bit more marine life and you can see some fish, but if snorkeling is your priority in Fuerteventura, we recommend the Ajuy Caves<\/a> (if the sea is calm, be careful) or the northern beaches.
